Airflow & Cooling Design
Side Intake
Rather than pulling air through the glass front, the TG3 uses its GF360 U REV assembly along the side of the motherboard chamber as the primary factory intake.
Rear Exhaust
The included 120 mm rear fan provides a direct exhaust path for heated air moving through the main component chamber.
Additional GPU Airflow
Two optional 120 mm fan positions on the PSU shroud can direct additional airflow toward the graphics card, although their use can affect expansion-slot availability.
Published Thermal & Acoustic Testing
Independent testing from Tom's Hardware found particularly strong CPU cooling performance with the TG3's factory configuration. Its normalized CPU cooling result was one of the notable strengths of the chassis, while the case also operated quietly during testing.
GPU temperatures were less impressive relative to the CPU result. This matches the TG3's basic airflow architecture: its side intake works well for supplying the CPU region, while graphics-card cooling can benefit from adding the optional PSU-shroud fans.
Panoramic Design & Showcase Space
The TG3 is designed as much around presentation as conventional component housing. Its front and side glass panels expose much of the interior, while the tiered lower section creates an open display area toward the front of the chassis.
Montech also integrates ARGB lighting around the raised PSU chamber. Builders can use the open front section for a figure, model or other decorative element, or simply leave it open for a cleaner appearance.
Hardware Compatibility
430 mm GPU Clearance
The unusually generous graphics-card allowance gives the TG3 room for many large modern GPUs and leaves substantial space around shorter cards.
180 mm Air Coolers
CPU-cooler clearance is generous enough for many large dual-tower air coolers.
250 mm PSU Support
The chassis can accommodate long ATX power supplies, although cable space should always be considered along with PSU length.
Back-Connector Motherboard Support
Montech officially supports back-connected motherboard designs in the TG3. These boards move many traditional power and I/O connections behind the motherboard tray, reducing visible cabling inside the glass-covered main chamber.
This capability is especially appropriate for a showcase-oriented chassis, where minimizing visible cables can have a significant effect on the finished appearance.
Works Best With
Large Modern GPUs
A 430 mm maximum GPU length provides considerable room for long performance graphics cards.
360 mm AIO Cooling
A top-mounted 360 mm AIO complements the factory side intake while providing substantial CPU cooling capacity.
Clean Showcase Builds
Back-connected motherboard support and panoramic glass make the TG3 especially suitable for systems designed around clean visible cabling.
Storage & Front I/O
Drive Capacity
Montech officially specifies support for up to one 3.5-inch HDD and two 2.5-inch SSDs.
USB Connectivity
Front I/O includes two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one USB Type-C connection.
Lighting Control
The I/O panel includes a dedicated LED button along with the power control and combined headset audio connection.
Build Experience
Published reviewers generally found the TG3 straightforward to build in, especially considering its value-oriented position. The large main chamber provides substantial component room, and removable glass panels open the interior for installation.
Cable-management space behind the motherboard tray is less generous than the main chamber. Tom's Hardware found it usable but somewhat tight, particularly once larger power and peripheral cables were routed into place.
Owner Satisfaction & What Builders Are Saying
Recurring Positive Feedback
- Builders frequently praise the amount of hardware and cooling capability provided by the TG3.
- The panoramic glass and integrated lighting create a more premium-looking finished system.
- Build quality is repeatedly described as better than expected for a value-oriented chassis.
- The unified side fan assembly reduces visible fan cabling.
- Large GPU and CPU-cooler clearances make component selection relatively easy.
- Back-connector motherboard support is appreciated in clean showcase builds.
- The interior is generally considered spacious and easy to work in.
Recurring Concerns
- GPU thermals are not as strong as the case's CPU cooling results.
- Rear cable-management space can become tight with larger component sets.
- The decorative front showcase area may feel like unused space to builders who do not want to display anything.
- The black model's contrasting PSU chamber styling can be visually divisive.
- Storage capacity is modest for builders with several SATA drives.
- Adding fans above the PSU chamber can interfere with at least one expansion slot depending on configuration.
Where Research Agrees & Differs
Professional reviews and builder reports broadly agree that the TG3 offers a surprisingly substantial chassis design, strong CPU cooling, generous component clearance and an attractive panoramic presentation.
The biggest qualification concerns airflow distribution. Independent thermal testing indicates that the factory configuration performs better for CPU cooling than GPU cooling. Builders concentrating on a high-power graphics card may therefore benefit more from the optional PSU-shroud fan positions than users running lower-power GPUs.

Upgrade & Build Considerations
The TG3 leaves substantial room for future graphics-card upgrades thanks to its 430 mm maximum GPU length. Builders moving toward hotter GPUs can also use the two optional 120 mm positions above the PSU chamber to increase direct airflow toward the graphics card.
For CPU upgrades, builders can choose between large tower air coolers up to 180 mm or a roof-mounted AIO as large as 360 mm. The latter configuration retains the factory side intake while creating a direct top exhaust path for CPU heat.
Alternatives to Consider
Corsair FRAME 4000D RS
A modular airflow-focused alternative offering extensive radiator placement, E-ATX support and configurable fan mounting.
Lian Li LANCOOL 207
A more airflow-focused alternative with dedicated lower GPU intake fans and a compact conventional mesh-front layout.
Fractal Design Meshify 3
A more traditional mesh-front alternative emphasizing direct airflow, hardware compatibility and understated styling.
Who Is It Best For?
The Montech TG3 is especially well suited to builders who want the visual impact of a panoramic case without giving up compatibility with full-size ATX gaming hardware. It is also attractive for builders using back-connected motherboards or those who want an interior display area.
Users prioritizing maximum GPU airflow over appearance may prefer a traditional mesh-front chassis, while builders with several hard drives should consider a case with greater storage capacity.
Rockin Box Tech Research Summary
The Montech TG3 combines a panoramic showcase design with unusually generous hardware compatibility. Official specifications provide room for a 430 mm graphics card, 180 mm CPU cooler and 250 mm ATX power supply while retaining support for a 360 mm top radiator.
Its factory cooling configuration is also distinctive. The GF360 U REV side assembly combines three 120 mm fan positions into a single frame, while a separate GF120 U handles rear exhaust.
Independent testing strengthens the case for the TG3 as more than a visual enclosure. Published results show particularly good CPU cooling and quiet operation, although GPU cooling is less exceptional. Builders using hotter graphics cards should therefore consider the optional PSU-shroud fan positions.
Community feedback is generally positive about build quality, appearance, component space and the overall building experience, while cable space, limited drive storage and the usefulness of the dedicated showcase area depend more heavily on the individual build.
